In the final year of Rangers, many girls participate in the Trailblazer Leadership Award which is the highest award a girl member can earn. To achieve this leadership award alongside the the City of Abbotsford, The Girl Guides Of Abbotsford district participated in the painting of murals. Prepared for the girls and painted by the Five age groups of girl guides, each branch of Girl Guides participated in sharing their creativity.
This artwork is created using recycled paint chips from local paint stores that were kindly gifted to my Art class. Using these recycled papers I created a mosaic, using entirely recycled papers. As an artist, it is important to me to reduce my waste while crafting and working. This piece illustrates that overlooked recycling can be used to create beautiful art. I spent multiple hours every week for a full month in order to create this piece that I am proud of.
